Samsung Gas Stove Oven Not Working
When your Samsung gas stove oven is not working, check to see if the stove top burners are getting gas. If not, check the gas supply cut-off valve to make sure it’s open. Open that cut-off valve if you find it shut. That will restore the gas supply to the stove so the oven and surface burners will heat.
If the surface burners work, then a weak or failed igniter is the most likely cause of your Samsung gas stove oven not working. Remove the bottom panel of the oven so your can see the igniter. Start the oven in the bake mode and see if the igniter glows. If it glows but the bake burner doesn’t ignite, then you’ve likely isolated the failure to a weak igniter. Even though the igniter glows, it likely isn’t getting hot enough to trip the safety gas valve and light the burner. In this scenario, you’ll likely need to have a service technician replace the igniter.
If the igniter doesn’t glow, then a problem with the electronic control board could be causing the heating failure. Resetting the oven control board may clear up an internal logic problem in the circuit board so the oven will heat. To reset the control board, take these steps:
- Unplug the stove or shut off the house circuit breaker for the stove to completely disconnect electrical power.
- Leave the power off for 5 minutes.
- Restore power to the stove and the oven control board will reboot and reset.
